Description: While watching YouTube, Brave window suddenly collapses. Video stops but audio continues playing. When I try to restore the window and go back to the
video, it happens again after 2-3 seconds.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open YouTube
2. Watch any video for a few minutes
3. Browser window collapses randomly, audio keeps playing
Expected: Browser stays open
Actual: Window collapses, audio continues
What I tried:
- Disabled hardware acceleration — no fix
- Deleted GrShaderCache, GraphiteDawnCache, ShaderCache — no fix
- Disabled all extensions — no fix
- Chrome works perfectly fine with same video/quality
There’s a GitHub ticket I pushed for regarding this. It has NOT been fixed, and honestly even typing this the browser again froze, had to move a window to unfreeze it, it’s getting old and tiring.
I hope it’s fixed but at this point I’ve had it for nearly a year (the ticket was created a while after enough people came with the same issue), and still no fixed. No comments from the devs.
Yeah looks like the same issue. Reports of this have gone down significantly since the issue was opened but clearly it’s still occurring for some people.
I commented in the issue with this report as a +1 and pinged a team member to see if we can get someone to take a pass at it.
