Hey everyone, does anyone know why I can’t update Brave at all?
I’ve tried literally everything and nothing has worked so far.
In the Windows Services panel, I know there should be three Brave services running (the ones shown in red in the screenshot), but for me only “Brave Elevation Service” appears — the other Brave update services are completely missing.
I’ve already tried uninstalling Brave completely, deleting all Brave folders (including the ones in C:\Program Files (x86) and in another drive), reinstalling through the normal installer, and checking the registry, but the problem remains the same. Brave installs normally, but the update services are never created.
Does anyone know how I can fix this or what might be causing Brave Update not to install its services?
Interesting, two users with missing services for the updater (but remnants remain). Your error code is different than the user you got the screenshot from, but basically the same, permission problem (I can’t read it Portuguese, but I assume it’s saying “unspecified error” at the end? Usually that’s what I’d expect with that specific code).
You don’t by chance have anything installed that might possibly be an app that installs and updates apps for you?
