Brave tabs and bookmarks icons are globes instead of identifiable icons previously seen

Hi.
Today when I opened my Brave Browser, the tabs and bookmarks icons are gray globes instead of the usual identifiable icons usually seen. I’ve looked for other posts about this, but the details aren’t quite the same as my problem.

Here’s a screenshot showing the problem:

I don’t know if or how this can be reproduced.

1.I cleared my history and cache as advised online, but it didn’t fix it.
2. reinstalled Brave Browser
3. have my Brave desktop icon set with Administrator permissions
4. but I didn’t chanege any of my sync setting because I’m worried I might lose everything now syncing such as bookmarks.

I want to revert to the correct tab and bookmarks icons.

Brave Browser version 1.85.1.118 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Mt notebook has Windows 10 Home 64-bit os

I would appreciate any help with this.

This typically happens when the webpage data is no longer cached and the subsequent favicon that would display there needs to be refetched.

If you simply click on any of those tabs and load the page, the icon should reappear. Same for those bookmarks on the bookmarks toolbar – click on them to open and load the page(s) and the icons should be fetched and displayed correctly.

Thank you for your reply. I don’t really understand what happened, but I’ll follow your advice and see. edit: I clicked on my bookmark icons and they didn’t change from the globes back to what they were up until today. Any ideas?

Did you let the page of the bookmark clicked fully load?
