Hello, I’m having a problem with Brave that started today.
Whenever I close the Brave browser completely and open it again, I get logged out of all websites (Google, YouTube, etc.). However, if I only close a tab and keep the browser open, I stay logged in normally.
This issue started suddenly after I tried to access a website to join a queue for a concert ticket. I had to create an account there, but the site kept loading and didn’t send the SMS verification code. After that, I closed and reopened Brave, and the problem began.
Details:
No extensions are installed that manage cookies or privacy
My history and bookmarks are still saved normally
Logging out happens immediately after closing Brave, not after restarting the PC
If I stay in the same session, I remain logged in to websites
The issue affects multiple sites, not just Google/YouTube
It seems like something is clearing or resetting my session cookies every time I fully close the browser, but I haven’t changed any settings manually.
Has anyone experienced this or knows how to fix it?
Not sure if this helps to narrow it down but I have the YouTube previews turned off but whenever I have to log back in then they are checked back on in the YouTube settings
Edit: one other thing comes to mind…on my iPad I use desktop mode, so similar to the OP…I have not seen this issue on my iPhone which uses mobile mode.
On desktop I would also check Settings > Privacy and security > Delete browsing data > On exit, because that can clear cookies even when bookmarks/history stay. If that is empty, a quick test with a new Brave profile can separate a damaged profile setting from a wider Brave/iOS issue. For the iPad case, the desktop-mode detail sounds worth keeping in the thread for support because it may point to site data being handled differently for YouTube.
