brave keeps disconnecting my google accounts

randomly, my brave browser keeps signing me out of all my google accounts. this happens completely out of nowhere, and i’m not doing anything specific that could cause it.

it seems to happen at random, so i haven’t been able to identify a pattern yet. however, the last time it happened, i simply put my pc into sleep mode and went to bed.

i don’t know how to fix this. the same issue used to happen on chrome, and i initially thought it was a browser-related problem, but now it’s happening on brave as well. almost every day, i have to sign back into my google accounts because brave logs me out for no apparent reason.

Check the “On-Device Site Data” and “Clear Data On Exit” settings in your browser.

Maybe your cookies (which are required for logged-in sessions) get deleted after a while.

Also, allow On-Device Site Data (Enabled By Default)

In addition to what @Druid suggests above, I would check Shields settings for these sites and make sure that you don’t have:

  • Forget me when I close this site enabled for Google sites, which would clear any data related to that site once the tab is closed
  • You don’t have Shields set to Block all cookies for these sites
