Brave own downloader bypasses IDM. If I try to download anything, it goes to downloads of brave and for some reason pauses it at first…
Checked with edge, no issue there…only Brave

For me, I noticed that any Chromium-based based that uses 143 works fine with IDM. It wasn’t until 144 that the downloads do not get passed to IDM rather than the default manager. This is true for Brave, Chrome, and Vivaldi if they all use 144.

My IDM will not take over any downloads using Brave, I see that this is a Chromium issue with Brave because I have no issues when using Google Chrome. And it is still pausing downloads with the default Brave downloader.

I have the same issue. Brave downloader is also “paused”. Glad they recognized the issue. Any temporary solution when downloading files?

Unfortunately, this is not the case with me; IDM still does not get downloads passed through to it as it should. I do have the 6.42.59 version of the extension, but nothing changes.

Hmm, I wonder what’s different for you compared to @zekecarter15. Either way, hate to say it but I think you’re going to need to contact the IDM devs as they would be the more appropriate contact. Not to say Brave doesn’t sometimes try to look, especially if it seems Brave is the only one with an issue, but still always best for people who make an extension to try to look at why their extension isn’t working properly on any specific browser.

Thank you. I have contacted IDM as well. They are aware that there is an issue with IDM and Chromium 144.

Updating the extension fixed my issue though

Yep and thank you for resolving this in a timely manner. I just checked and now IDM is working with all downloads in the Brave Browser.

It seems that IDM does work now in anything Chromium 144, but as long as IDM is not configured to use a socks5 proxy. When that is enabled IDM no longer works but it does when no proxy is used.

Can anyone confirm?

Brave Nightly browser does not run IDM extension

I confirm the socks5 proxy setting doesn’t work. IDM is not engaging.6.42 Build 58 and Extension Module 6.42.59
