Brave Browser Issue with University Portal – "This site can’t be reached"

Hello everyone,

Some time ago, I encountered a problem that is still unresolved.

There is a university website – https://bais.ba.lv/. When opening the page, there is a button labeled “Uzsākt darbu”, which translates to “Start Work”. This is a Latvian university portal for students.

However, every time I click on “Uzsākt darbu”, I get the following error:

This site can’t be reached
The webpage at https://bais.ba.lv/new/Default.aspx might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
ERR_TOO_MANY_RETRIES

What I’ve tried so far:

• Disabled all Brave protections
• Enabled Java for the site
• Turned off the ad blocker

Despite these efforts, the site loads perfectly fine on other browsers like Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. However, switching between browsers is inconvenient, as Brave is my primary browser.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Try adjusting your site specific shield settings until you can get past this error. I’ve had it happen to a few sites, and the shields were set too aggressively. As a backup to brave shield , try No Script extension. That way if you have to drop the built in browser protections, you can help manage what scripts actually run on the pages you visit.
