Mobile Device details Samsung SM-A520F

Additional Information: I have used the brave browser on my mobile for many years not sure why this is happending now

You are currently using a very outdated version of the browser. Please launch the Google Play Store and update Brave to the latest build (v1.82.170 at the time of writing this).

Hi Mattches when I go to update I get this same message - contact brave devleopers as my device is no longer compatible with Brave browser

Thank you for your contribution. I’ve found a work around - when I open a link from gmail etc it usually opens in Brave - once I do that I have it going again. so for now I’m ok

but I still cannot update to the newest version via google play store

Can you both please tell me what Android version you’re using on the devices in which you’re seeing this issue?

Thank you - It is Android Version 8.0.0

@Lenox and @Beery Android 8 and 9 are no longer supported as both have reached what is called “End of Life” (EOL). You can see one of the general Chrome announcements on this at https://support.google.com/chrome/thread/352616098/sunsetting-chrome-support-for-android-8-0-oreo-and-android-9-0-pie or even sites like https://9to5google.com/2025/06/26/google-chrome-android-versions-no-longer-supported-2025/

Also, if you pay attention to the app store (Google Play), you’ll see it shows Android 10 or up as required.

In order to receive any further updates, you need to be on a newer version of Android.

Thank you for the explanation - I’ll stick with my workaround! I have been using brave on this device for so many years and hopefully for more.
