I am a new user here and signed up to report this problem. I was told to start a new topic when I asked how to formally report this on another thread.
Description of the issue:
After switching from Android to iPhone (iOS 18.5), multi-tasking, viz., changing apps causes Brave to freeze requiring a forced close and restart. To quote another user: “If I quickly change to another app, even if for a second, when I come back it is frozen and I have reset it again. As brave is my main iOS browser this is awful.”
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
Open Brave
Go to a website.
Switch to another app or swipe up to return to the Home screen.
Return to Brave and try to proceed scrolling, typing, video watching, etc.
Forced restart is required.
Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):
N/A (screen freezes but otherwise has no visual anomalies)
Expected result:
Open Brave
Go to a website.
Switch to another app or swipe up to return to the Home screen.

At least 80% reproducible.

16 bookmarks. Deleting 6 of them now, but 16 when I filed this.
1-5 tabs are usually open, I can verify that crashing happens with 1 tab repeatedly, I haven’t paid attention to other times.
happens no matter the website/tab, but definitely more frequent for YouTube or apps with media.
No. The only Brave options I have changed are the delete everything after Brave closes (which is why this bug is particularly challenging for me)
Thank you for looking into this. The crashing has been so infrequent of late, that I was not sure if my version was updated and assumed this issue was fixed, so I apologize for not checking in to read your post.
