Brave AI Summary Still Displays Outdated Legal Association After Takedown #1067

Hello Brave Team,

Thank you for confirming the removal of indexed URLs associated with Takedown Request #1067, which previously linked to a sealed and dismissed legal case. The URLs no longer appear in Brave Search results.

However, Brave’s AI-generated summary still displays outdated and inaccurate associations with that case, despite the removal of all source content. This residual exposure undermines the protections granted by the court’s sealing order.

I respectfully request that Brave:

  • Purge any cached embeddings or associations in the AI summary layer that reference the sealed matter.

  • Confirm that future summaries will not regenerate this connection, even indirectly.

Thank you for your continued support in resolving this final issue. I’m happy to provide additional context privately if needed.

@TakedownRequest1067 have you contacted privacy@brave.com ?

I’m seeing your post as if you have been in contact. If that’s the case then it would generally be good to follow-up on that existing contact method.

thank you. yes, that’s where the reference number 1067 comes from. however that process seems to be stuck somewhere. I did even get assurance from chatting with their AI bot which assured me that everything has been taken care of days ago - and it is not :frowning:

Just was confirming. I am not with Brave so don’t have access to anything on their background. I’ll tag in @steeven and @mattches just so they can reference and relay whomever from Brave can best help. But at least in the meanwhile wanted to make sure you’re following up via the same way as earlier since this is the direct contact with the people are able to best help you at Brave.

@TakedownRequest1067 thank you for letting us know. I’ve forwarded this information to our Search and Privacy teams for review. Will reply here as soon as I hear back from them.
