Bitdefender blocking New Private Window with Tor

Hi. When enabled, Bitdefender’s “advanced threat protection” won’t allow a new Tor Window to be opened.

The feature can be bypassed for specific domains or URLs. Any thoughts on which URL or domain that would be? Thanks.

Anyone know what domain or URL the Brave browser goes to when a “private window with Tor” is requested?

Bitdefender’s “advanced threat protection” feature is blocking Brave, and I’d like to allow it to bypass that URL.

Hi Steve. If you want to just add an exception for the TOR functionality, I believe this is the string you need. 127.0.0.1:9250 (sometimes 9150 or another random port). Best of luck.

BTW, I was having the same issue and after fiddling with it for a while, I finally gave up and installed TOR Browser instead of using Brave’s built-in TOR functionality. Try it out. https://www.torproject.org/download/

I believe @Eddie is correct here – 127.0.0.1:9050 should be the exception you need to add.
