"Ask where to save each file before downloading" No Longer Working

The correct button is toggled in settings, but saving files always goes to the same folder. In addition, I used to see downloaded files at bottom of browser screen where I could just click on them to open or find in folder. That bar has disappeared. Help?

Would you be willing to share a short screen recording of what happens when you go to download a file in Brave?
