Apology accepted, I am sorry myself if I come across hard. I’m not a Brave dev, just a user like you.
I am SUPER glad Skia Graphite worked.
Do keep in mind, D3D9 will use your CPU to decode videos as that is a feature of D3D11 to have GPU accelerated video decoding. However, since you enabled Skia Graphite, the ANGLE backend setting has no effect as seen here. (Also a warning about D3D9, while faster, GPU vendors haven’t been optimizing their drivers for D3D9 in probably at least 8-10 years now. Remember when Intel Arc first shipped? lol it bombed at older games because it had NO D3D9 and under optimizations.)
(Also, keep in mind, Skia Graphite gets overidden if the Angle Backend is on anything other than Default or D3D11. Skia Graphite doesn’t work with D3D9 or D3D11 WARP. In addition to that, you likely don’t want to actually use D3D11 WARP, because that is a CPU/software based renderer which emulates a GPU, so again a burden on your CPU.
Your best bet is leave ANGLE on Default, but have Skia Graphite enabled. That completely ensures your CPU isn’t forced to do things your GPU should be doing, leaving the CPU completely free for the actual work, HTML/Javascript parsing.)
