i my side is working no problems is not for everyone i think for now

YouTube has most likely changed its filters against the cat-and-mouse fight between ad blockers.

A few fixes went out, is it still occuring?

not at the moment, it is still working normally until now.

@fanboynz I still see the box that pops up. Ad blockers are not allowed on YouTube. I watch like 4 or 5 videos and the box pops up again and it’s so annoying. Is there a fix or an update for this?

lemie test on my side and i’ll inform you.on my side there isnt issues so far

@Chocolate just a reminder that at least in the past that message was tied into cookies. So like once someone got it, it would come up even with adblockers disabled sometimes. If it routinely appears when you visit, you may want to clear all Google and YouTube cookies from your browser.

Or an easy way to test this is just to open in a private window. If it’s related to cookies then you’ll not see it happen in the private session, even when signed into your account.

I deleted all the cookies, and it’s working fine for now. I also tried it in private mode, but it still works. If the box appears again, I’ll report it again. Thanks, Saoiray.

@fanboynz @Saoiray 6 days ago I deleted all my data and everything was fine. Until today I see the following message: “The player will crash after 1, 2, 3 videos.” Are there other users experiencing the same problem? Or is there an update for this to fix the anti-adblock?

@Chocolate to make a long story short if you keep the browser and components updated, there shouldn’t be these messages appearing. It could be extensions you are using is triggering detection.

That said, it’s not perfect either. The key thing is most of the time this is just a warning they put into cookies. If you clear all Google and YouTube cookies it usually goes away and things stay fine.

They have been testing account based flags. In those situations people will see the message or be blocked once they login to YouTube but otherwise it never appears. From what I recall of some people who had that though, it only happened if people kept ignoring the warning and let it reach 0 on the count, to which it would trigger the block. I’m not sure if they stopped that or if it’s still in use.

All of that said, just clear the cookies when you start getting that message and it should be good. Also you may need to remove extensions or change their settings, depending on what you may be using.

I currently only have the two Dark Reader extensions and Google Translate. And I’ve updated everything to the latest version. Thanks for your suggestion, Saoiray.

can you test in another Brave version, Beta or Nightly. Seperate to the main version. I checked the YT stats, looks much better than a week ago

I tried it and it works great in Nightly and Beta. I even tried it in the new profile and I haven’t received any adblock warnings yet.

Can you try again by disabling the addons? Even some commonplace addons have been reported as causing detections.
