Address Bar Reverting to Old Entry

Description of the issue: When I begin typing something in the upper address bar, and then switch to a different tab before coming back to complete the search, the search query is locked to what I typed before switching tabs. If I add to the query or delete it and change it completely, the search goes through on the pre tab switch entry.
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Type anything in the address bar.

  2. Navigate to different tab and return.

  3. Modify entry and search.

Expected result: The search will revert to whatever was entered before tab switch.

Not seeing this on my end on Windows 11 or macOS systems. Can you tell me what search engine you have set as your default for the browser as well as whether or not you have any extensions installed in the browser at this time?

I use the Brave search engine, and tried this both with extensions enabled and disabled.

Update: I tested this on a few different Brave profiles and it only occurs on one of them…I will try to narrow down on the cause.

I would start by clearing site data for search.brave.com and then test again.

Yes, I did try that, no luck.
