As a former Firefox user, one of my favorite features was mobile extensions, which allowed me to use Dark Reader to automatically make all sites show up in dark mode when my phone was in dark mode. It seems Brave has a similar experimental setting, and in my experience it works great. However, It’d be nice to have an option where it only activates whenever dark mode is active system wide. I think forced dark mode looks a lot better at night instead of staring at bright white websites, but during the day time I prefer light mode, and it’s really annoying having to constantly switch between toggling dark mode on and off manually when Dark Reader on Firefox did it automatically. I think this is an important feature to consider because:
- It is (likely) an easy feature to implement
- It positions Brave as an even more innovative, modern, and user-friendly browser
- Competing browsers, like Firefox and Microsoft Edge, already support this functionality
