I’m unabled to assess my YouTube account. The entire page is blank . White screen . I was able to only see a video if i was to disable my ad blocker . Once i did that i could see the page but again unable to view any videos. Also im block from logging into my account as well. Is there anyone who can help ? I’ve tried other web browser and the same issue . Could youtube end my account for using adblocker? Any reply would be most helpful
Can you please tell me what OS and Brave version you’re using when you see this?
Im on a desk top , And i’ve have brave for a few years . It the only way at the time i could see youtube that is until now without logging in
@lovely.1 your issue is likely one of three things.
- Cookies
- Extensions
- Graphics card (for white screen)
Since you talked about not being able to login, I’m going to guess cookies. Try clearing all Google and YouTube cookies from your device. You can do this by going to brave://settings/content/all and search for Google and delete it, then YouTube and delete them. Then exit Brave, reopen, and try. Most likely it will resolved.
I did that last night. As well as logging off then back on. I’m still unable to log into my yt account , Yet my google say i’m log in. What is a graphics card and why is it only affecting YT?
@lovely.1 can you try launching Brave, going to Settings --> System --> Use graphics acceleration when available and toggle this option “off”? Relaunch the browser when prompted then try visiting Youtube again and see if the white screen issue is still there.
Just when i thought it was about to work it didnt. Im still uable to long into my account. It would open up another search page and i would have to type what im looking for on yt. I Ccant even asscess any of my favorite sites
Apologies but I’m not entirely sure I understand the issue(s) you’re encountering. Can you please tell me the following information:
- What OS are you using at this time?
- What Brave browser version are you using at this time (you can find this by launching Brave and going to
Settings --> About Brave)? - You said that you were seeing a white screen when you visited Youtube.com and were unable to use the site. When you disabled
Graphics Acceleration, did the white screen issue (specifically) go away? - If you are seeing other issues in the browser, other than the aforementioned white screen issue, can you please tell me exactly what they are?
Ok at about Brave it say Nearley up to date Relaunch Brave to fi ish updating offical buikd 64-bit
@lovely.1 prioritize Mattches over me, as he’s from Brave and I’m just another user. And knowing specifically which OS you’re using and what exact version of Brave you’re using may be helpful here in trying to replicate the issue and giving best advice.
So this would be like:
I'm on Windows 11 and using Brave 1.23.456. Or whatever you’re on. Please do share this.
Not to overwhelm you but I’m going to just spill “everything” at once of things to check, rather than spending time asking you to do one thing at a time as we have done so far. I’ll also try to explain why each step or question is being mentioned. Sorry for the length of the reply, but want to try to get you the resources to troubleshoot and see if the problem can be figured out. I may repeat some things but just work with me and give it a second look just to be safe.
To be clear, I think you have a few separate issues. The white screen is probably a different cause than you not being able to login, for example. So we’ll take things one step at a time.

Remind me and be very clear, if you disable Shields what does and doesn’t work compared to when it’s enabled? And have you changed any of your Shields settings or anything?
This helps us to know which problems (white screen, can’t login, or other problem), if any, are associated with Shields and might help us either guide you on changes to make or might be able to fix any issues that need done on the back end.
-
If you go to
brave://componentsand try to update everything there, does any of it come back with any errors or does it seem to work right?
Components are related to various parts of the browser, but also can be related to Shields content filters. Honestly this should have absolutely nothing to do with your issues but my instincts just are saying to have you check it. Doesn’t hurt and doesn’t take long.

If you open a private window, does it allow you to login? Does the video player work or is it a white screen?
Private sessions start with no cookies and with all extensions disabled (as long as you didn’t enable any to run in private). If something works in private, then 99% of the time it means it’s either an extension causing the problem or it’s cookies. If you see the issue resolve here, then you either need to purge cookies (either Google/YouTube or all cookies for all time) or you need to disable (or remove) all your extensions and see if the issue in normal window resolves.
-
If private window doesn’t make a difference, let’s try a second “test” profile. Go to the three line menu (hamburger menu) → More Tools → Add New Profile. Name it whatever you want and we’ll use it as a test profile. Don’t add extensions or change settings, just as it “as is.” Does the issue still happen?**
New profiles have no extensions, many/most of Brave’s settings at default, and of course no cookies. (any changes to brave://flags and any custom content filters are changed between profiles). So this is kind of double checking. Often if it resolves here, the primary thing to consider would be extensions. Secondary would be settings that might have been changed. (otherwise likely a corruption of sorts in the profile)

Test the graphics card. Go to Settings → System and change the toggle for Use graphics acceleration when available. Exit the browser and reopen, then try again to see if anything changes.
The prior things were more for your login issues, but might have a part to do with the white screen. If it’s off, then it uses your CPU instead of your GPU. If it’s on, it uses your GPU. It’s usually better to have it on, but it’s good to check. Knowing if it works when on or off helps pinpoint the issue.

If none of those seem to make any difference, then could you please try installing Brave Beta or Brave Nightly to see if the issue happens there as well?
Overall this helps to know if it’s a version specific issue. This can give clues about whether it’s something that is getting fixed in a future update, if it’s more of a device specific issue, etc.
If it doesn’t work any anything we tried prior, this is just to confirm it’s not a Chromium or device issue. If it happens in Chrome then we know it’s not Brave specific. But which path to take from there is difficult. If nobody else reports, then assume it’s your device or device settings and that’s up to you to look at. If lots of other people have the same issue, then look more upstream to Chromium team to figure it out and fix it.
Hello, my Window is 10 and my Brave is 1.8.2.172 ( official build ) 64 bite
I so far clean my catch and cookie. And download a new update Brave everything still the same. Even in private search , It did work for a little while then i was only able to hear the audio no video .
And it still won’t allow me to log into my account. Youtube will push me to a new open page like a google page but it say youtube with lots of tv images I also shut down all ads blockers and it still won’t allow me to view there site. I can watch Netflix and any videos on facebook, tic tox and others but not youtube .
I hope this will give you a better idea as to whats going on . And i want to thank you for all your time and effort your putting into helping me . I so deeply appreciate it
I’ve follow every step to a T and it all came down to downloading brave nightly , So far everything looks back to normal for the moment . Idk if i should delete the old brave or keep it as a back up. One thing i concern me is a discovery of something i’ve found . Fanboy’s mobile notification version 1.0.15348 Should i be worried and if yes how can i remove this ??
This is an adblock filter and is nothing to worry about.
So you’re saying that Nightly doesn’t have the issue you have in your original Brave profile? I would also recommend trying the Beta build out as well.
Yes. So far im really enjoying brave nightly. It even have news update clock and other details. And Yes im able to get into my youtube account without any problem. And was able to view videos nonstop. Thank you for all your time and effort. ![]()

Ravta. I had AdBlocker to block all the ads YouTube would pump into each video I would be viewing .
And sometimes even blocking Brave. So i had to have a back up just in case
Hey, forgive me if this is already been covered here, i skimmed through the responses and didn’t see what comes to mind, and just wanted to make sure this got in this thread before it closes. I haven’t had any issues like this on desktop, your issues rang a bell as far as youtube. Check your shields/filters (both) for yout00b, first and formost, brave://settings/shields/filters and see if ‘Brave Experimental Adblock Rules’ is checked ON, if so obvoiusly uncheck that bad dude and see if yout00b loads normally. I would even uncheck all boxes honeslty and slowly turn them back on, WHILE youtube is in the foreground, and just reload (control R) the tab as you turn on filters. Also just for anybody who’s uncertain, yout00b runs the adblock check from thier symbol (youtube symbol in the upper left corner). When you pass it, it’ll start doing things up there, if you fail it, it remains static, and you get nailed with an annoying fullscreen of bs about how your trying to block their ads. So don’t “try” to block them, succeed in blocking them, and problem solved.
Now i can’t show you right where this is, as I have completely grenaded my winDOHz 10 brave client, that’s why i’m here lol…. But if you go to inspect, and control F ‘ariahidden=true’, i beleive the first time that comes up is where their adblock routine runs. The reason your issue sounds like the filters being on, is because it sounds as though the css template for youtube is absent altogether, which can happen with filters on. I hope this helps!
