YouTube Videos buffer for a few seconds at the beginning

This is being reported in the hopes that Brave will address and resolve this issue for all Brave users who utilize this web browser primarily to escape YouTube’s unrealistic anti-adblocking systems.

More than likely due to YouTube’s systems, videos have a buffering issue at the start of being loaded in a tab, greatly disrupting flow for playlists and presenting what could easily snowball into further issues. We request that Brave look into this issue to resolve this complication, ensuring their adblock continues to function as expected against YouTube’s systems

We encourage any other users suffering this issue to also report it, in the hope that mass numbers may encourage Brave to act swifter.

Description of the issue: Likely due to YouTube’s anti-adblocks, when loading a new video for the first time in a tab/selecting a new video, it will buffer for a few seconds, sometimes several seconds at a time before finally loading in.

That’s correct – this is likely Youtube’s systems fighting against any/all browser with ad-block software detected. We are always working to improve our Shields protections and find ways to bypass this but this often takes time and this or similar issues may reappear as Youtube makes additional changes on their end.

So long as you are made aware and are working to resolve this. Brave’s best asset is its ability to bypass YouTube’s intolerable ad system, I trust it will continue to make that a priority without compromising its effectiveness and comfort
