I am experiencing a strange issue with Brave on Windows, and I would appreciate any help or advice.
Brave version: [1.92.140]
Operating System: Windows 11 Home (26200.7171)
From time to time, YouTube signs me out of my Google account for no apparent reason. Sometimes my session remains active for several days, while other times I can be signed out shortly after logging in. I have not been able to identify a consistent pattern or reproduce the issue reliably.
When this happens, YouTube displays the “Sign in” button again, and I have to log back into my Google account and complete the phone verification process.
So far, I have only experienced this issue with YouTube. However, I am concerned that the same thing could eventually happen with other Google services or even with other websites where I am signed in, such as Instagram, TikTok, or other online accounts.
I have already checked and tested the following:
- Restarted Brave several times.
- Restarted and completely shut down my computer.
- Closed and reopened YouTube tabs.
- Verified that Brave is not configured to clear browsing data when closing the browser.
- Checked my privacy and cookie settings.
- Reviewed my Brave Shields settings, which appear to be configured correctly.
- Allowed third-party cookies for Google, YouTube, and Google Accounts.
- Confirmed that the issue does not appear to be related to Brave Sync or my browser profile.
- Checked my browser extensions, and they do not appear to be causing the problem.
I also noticed that Google identifies Brave as “Chrome”, which I understand is normal because Brave is based on Chromium.
At this point, I am not sure whether this is a Brave bug, a Google authentication issue, or something else.
Could you please let me know:
- Is this a known issue?
- Has anyone experienced something similar?
- Is there anything else I should check or test?
- Are there any logs or diagnostic information that I could provide to help identify the cause?
