Description of the issue: Using Brave with shields up as of today 12/12/25 x.com only loads a black screen with an X in the middle of it and never loads. When shields are turned off it loads properly. The whole point of using Brave it to use the shields.
Does the site function as expected when Shields are turned off?yes
Is there a specific Shields configuration that causes the site to break? If so, tell us that configuration. (yes/no):no i tried lowering shield settings for ads and cookies to no avail. I also deleted all browsing and cookie data, logged out and logged in again to no avail. The standard shields settings is what I am using when the problem happens. Yesterday it all worked with shields up.

For each troublesome website - in a Brave Browser (desktop) New Window, visit the specific website of interest - for example, the main Google website: https://www.google.com/. Click on the tune icon that is adjacent to the left end of the Brave Browser window’s URL address field:

Checking the settings in Brave ov, s default, I forced it to allow and still have the same problem. I am now having problems with facebook, I verified in the tune javascript is allowed there as well. This problem did not exist on this computer say a week ago, all sites worked fine, has there been a recent change or update to Brave? The X screen says “some privacy related extensions may cause issues on x.com please disable them and try again” in a red banner below the X logo. Sometimes it is there sometimes the banner is not there but X never loads without disabling shields.
sorry that first sentence got chopped. The Brave overall setting were set to allow(default) and also for x and facebook for javascript. They have both been forced in tune to allow. no resolution.
