Description of the issue:
I just started using Brave, and also use a High Contrast Black theme in Windows 11.
When Contrast mode is enabled, the browser properly overrides color selections as other browsers and applications do, but internal Brave pages (like Settings, Bookmarks, etc.) do not use accessible icons.
For example, on/off toggles are not visible at all in Brave’s settings page:
The Search button in the upper right also does not display (though search text does properly appear when the search button is expanded):

Previous posts from a few years back suggest making sure Settings > Appearance > Brave Colors are set to Light or Dark instead of Use Windows Colors, but this has no effect.
How can this issue be reproduced?
-
Enable High Contrast mode in Windows: Win+X > Settings > Accessibility > Contrast Themes, choose Night Sky, Apply.
-
Start Brave and go to Settings page.
Expected result: The toggles for, e.g., “Automatically pin new tab groups” setting, and the Search magnifying glass in the upper right of the Settings page should show where appropriate, but they do not.
Brave Version: 1.82.161 (Official Build) (64-bit) Chromium: 140.0.7339.80
Additional Information: I don’t know if there is a default toggle switch like there is for checkbox, button, etc., but in Google Chrome, chrome://settings/appearance uses the same type of toggle and is visible in High Contrast mode.
