Website image loading problem

Description of the issue: very few images load up on the website i’m trying to access
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. I have no idea how to reproduce, but maybe hardware acceleration though I highly doubt it.

Expected result: Not all images display on the currently browsed website

Brave Version( check About Brave): v1.86.142 (Jan 21, 2026)

Additional Information: A few days ago images were loading fine but lately only 1 or 2 pictures load up on websites im trying to browse. I don’t think it’s for all websites but I found out iti Brave profile related, since a new profile works fine.
I’ve tried disabling shields, cleaing image cache and cookies up to no result.

Thank you for trying a new profile and confirming it works there. That means it’s not graphics acceleration related but rather something else.

Since you tried disabling shields, clearing cache and cookies, you already did a lot of steps more than most try. So thank you for that and explaining what you had done!

With that, I’m wondering, since it’s profile related, do you have extensions installed? (Since shields disabled didn’t help that also rules out custom filters).

Yes, I do have quite a few extensions enabled

If any of them are VPN related, try turning them off. If not, since a new profile works, disable extensions one at a time and see if behavior changes at any point. If you run into an extension that suddenly fixes image issues when disabled, then that extension may be what’s causing it (from there if true we can determine if it’s the extension itself, maybe it needs uninstalling and reinstalling, or maybe the extension doesn’t work with certain Chromium versions).

I have disabled my extensions 1 by 1 and kept refreshing the page until I deactivated all extensions.
It didn’t do anything.

Hmm, only other thing I can think of right now to try and check is: brave://settings/security and this setting in particular:

…and disabling Use secure DNS if enabled, and ensuring the DNS provider is on ‘OS default’ (as a test in case it’s a DNS issue).

If that doesn’t work, someone else will need to step in, as that’s the only thing I can think of that’d cause random images not to load.

I forgot to mention that I also disabled that option

@SorinIsHere can you please share the website in question here?

No, I cannot.
It’s secret.

@SorinIsHere

Without any Brave Browser process running, you might try deleting the GPUCache folder and the ShaderCache folder at:

CORRECTED (I hope) for Windows OS users, though apparently not useful for the OP:

"C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data\Default\GPUCache"

"C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data\ShaderCache"

Then test . . . bah . . . nevermind.

They are using Windows, your instructions are for Mac OS.

%localappdata%\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data\Default\GPUCache

%localappdata%\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data\ShaderCache

..would be the Windows paths.

@SorinIsHere hard to say what the issue is then without the site. You can try checking the dev tools Console window (Menu --> More tools --> Dev tools --> [Console]) and see if any error message shown in the console shed light on what’s causing the issue.

You might also want to clear cache/site data for that site specifically (you said you cleared image cache/cookies but it’s worth ensuring that that site’s data is fully cleared out).

That doesn’t do it.
No result

This is so weird.

I followed your instructions and found out when I open the console, I can see all the images.
So I just figured out, what if I zoom in or out.
And indeed if I zoom in once, I can see all the images.
Why would that be?

Again, hard to say without being able to see/have any information on the site in question and also hard to tell if the issue is specific to Brave. Could be as simple as the way the site’s layout is implemented.

Does the same thing occur if you visit the site in other browsers?

The issue is specific to my Brave profile,
I’ve tried Opera GX, works just fine.
Another Brave profile, works just fine.

Hard (Impossible) to debug without knowing the website If you want to DM
