Visible borders around webpages in full-screen after latest Brave update on macOS

Description of the issue:

After updating Brave to version 1.85.111 (Official Build) (arm64) on macOS, I now see visible margins/padding around the webpage area. The browser no longer fills edge-to-edge even when the window is maximized or in full screen. The effect looks like a border around the content.

The issue is visible on all sites, but it is much easier to see on dark pages. On bright webpages the margins are still there, but harder to notice.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open Brave on macOS

  2. Go to a dark themed website (for example, YouTube in dark mode)

  3. Maximize or enter full-screen mode

  4. Observe that the webpage does not touch the edges of the display and there is a visible rounded margin/border on all sides

Expected result:

Full screen should use the entire display area with no margin, as in previous versions.

Brave Version:

Brave 1.85.111 (Official Build) (arm64)

Chromium 143.0.7499.40

macOS Tahoe

Additional Information:

– Issue started immediately after updating Brave

Screenshot 2025-12-06 at 21.32.15

– Visible in full screen and maximized window

– The corners appear rounded with visible space between the webpage and the edge of the screen

– Screenshot attached

If you disable Show rounded corners on main content areas at brave://settings/appearance, do you still see this issue? Thanks!
