Video hangs on msnbc, audio plays fine

Description of the issue:*
On Android (on a Moto x4, running Pie, I open Brave, go to msnbc.com, and watch any video. Audio plays perfectly. Video hangs. when I tap on the video, it plays for about 3 seconds, then it hangs again.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Open Brave on Android
  2. Navigate to msnbc.com
  3. play any of the video stories

note: videos on other sites and in other apps play fine.

Expected result:
Should play video without hanging

Reproduces how often:
every time

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. It looks like I can reproduce the error – it’s interesting because if I tap on the video once it starts to freeze/hang, it will continue to play as normal for a second, then will revert back to hanging. I’ll be forwarding this information to the Android team.

This should fix it, give it 24-48hrs. Let us know if it doesn’t help

Wow! You are awesome! One more reason to use Brave. This would have taken forever with a browser from a large company!

While the hanging is fixed, there is now another issue.
Audio and video are out of sync, with video about a second behind audio.

Seems okay here, maybe restart the browser? could also be server side.
