Unable to download in browser

I recently switched to Brave. Everything was working well for a couple weeks. Now, I can no longer download anything from the browser. I can still download if I use Chrome.

I have tried to clear my browser cache and use different profiles, no change.

I am using a Mac (Apple Silicone M2). Sequoia 15.5

I found other posts about this same topic but they were from several years back and digging through them, I did not see a resolution.

Like some of the older posts mentioned, I can see the little circle with the count on the app icon like it is still downloading but it never completes. When I try to download anything nothing at all happens.

Brave version: 1.83.120
Chromium 141.0.7390.122

Any help or ides would be appreciated. Forgive me if I overlooked an existing solution in the forums but I would appreciate, if there is one, if someone could direct me there.

It looks like you’re on an outdated version of the browser. So before any further troubleshooting, can you please updated to the latest build and then test again to see if downloads work?

…….I’m a dork.

It is weird though it wouldn’t auto check for an update, not sure if it is combined with the download issue. I had to download the browser again manually from chrome and then relaunched. But all is well now.
