Description of the issue: Recently Brave has addapted to different colored buttons, they used to be orange which was fine, but now buttons are light blue with white text on it. This makes reading the text really difficult.
How can this issue be reproduced?
Go to Brave Shields → Browsing History
See the button at the bottom
It has light blue color with white text on it, this is really bad color combination and it makes text really difficult to read
Expected result: Text should be easily readable, now text blends in the background too much
Additional Information: Why Brave moved away from the orange color? And addapted to this awful color? And also bookmark icon is really hard to see in the popup menu (bookmark a website and check the bookmark icon. Color should be a lot more prominent).
@anon13909997 can you share a screenshot or two of the elements you’re referring to? In your steps to reproduce, you say
Assuming you meant to say Brave Shields > Delete browsing data – in which case, the button at the bottom seems pretty clear/easy to read – additionally, since you asked about moving away from orange, this button is orange as is the check boxes on the same page as well as a variety of the other buttons/elements in the browser:
I dont understand why I have this light blue color, I even uninstalled and reinstalled. And if I remember correctly, this started after Chrome 148, 147 was fine. I still have orange color in Brave Filters for some reason.
Hmm yeah those colors definitely don’t look correct. That being said you are using the Nightly build, which is expected to have bugs/issues. Can you try downloading the stable build of the browser and see if it displays correct?
Additionally, can you try changing the Nightly browser theme to light and tell me if it still shows the same blue color?
Okay, stable build has orange colors. I was running Nightly build yes, because I love testing new things. And Light theme has dark blue colors in nightly build, so colors are bugged. Nightly build also has much darker toolbar colors, like much darker purple color which blends in the dark background too much. Looks like Nightly build has some bugged colors all around. When compared to stable build, it has a lot lighter toolbar colors.
There you can see Expected result image, that is similar to mine. I checked and I have dynamic theme disabled. So, looks like I actually have dynamic theme enabled despite the setting being disabled.
Or, another theory is that Brave is actually moving away from orange color, into this material you theme. It is unfortunate if that is their goal, I might change to Firefox if that happens.
