Is this possible in Brave? I find it interesting. So I want to allow this content whenever I need it. If I want to do this in Brave, I have to disable Shields. Whereas in Firefox, it simply commands only the blocked part!
In Mozilla Firefox, when content like embeds from X, Instagram or Facebook is blocked, a placeholder appears in the page with a button to “Allow” or “Load content”.
In Brave, blocked content is hidden silently, and the only option is to disable Shields for the entire site.
It would be very useful to have a per-element unblock option directly in the page (e.g. a placeholder with “Load content”), instead of disabling protections globally for the site.
This is especially useful for privacy-conscious users who still want selective control.
Is this something that could be considered as a feature in upcoming versions of Brave?
You can use the Block elements feature for this kind of but it’s not quite what you’re looking for. I do like the way FF allows some elements to be allowed in-page like that – not sure if we have any plans for this but I’ll dig around.
That said I’m going to go ahead and post this in the Brave Feature Requests section instead if that’s alright with you.
Thanks for the clarification and for moving this. A per-element “Load content” option like in Firefox would be really useful, as it allows more fine-grained control without disabling Shields for the entire site.
