Tor tab is always show "Disconnected"

Tor private tab always show Disconnected. I use Brave version 1.82.172 in Windows 11. I have searched the forums for suggestions and i see this has been a problem for years, which is not very encouraging. What I’ve tried:

  1. Restarting Brave and quickly opening Tor

  2. Waiting a long time for the tor windows to connect

  3. Turning off Windows Proxy

  4. Turning off secure DNS. Visiting the https://www.torproject.org/ works.

  5. Turning off firewall and antivirus

  6. Turning off and on Tor function

  7. Checked brave://components/ and everything is up to date

  8. Checked Brave://tor-internals: logs and control events show empty.

  9. Turned off all extensions

  10. Deleted map: … /tor/data

Suggestions for anything else to try?
