Top bar extremely tall when using Brave webapp with "Open as tabbed window" on Fedora (Bazzite)

Description:
When launching a site installed as a web app using Brave on Linux (Fedora Bazzite), if the web app is configured to “open as tabbed window” from the Web App settings menu, the window’s top bar becomes extremely tall, wasting vertical space.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. On Brave (latest Release channel as of Aug 2025) on Fedora Bazzite, navigate to any website (e.g., Notion or Bitcoin.org).
  2. Use the menu to install the site as a web app (“Install site as app”).
  3. In the web app window, open the app menu (three dots) and enable “Open as tabbed window.”
  4. Observe the top of the window: the header bar becomes much taller than in normal windows.

Expected result:
The web app’s title bar should remain the same height as the standard Brave toolbar.

Actual result:
The top bar increases in height significantly (see screenshot), leaving a large empty area and making the window look out of proportion.

Environment:

  • OS: Bazzite (Fedora‑based Linux, KDE)
  • Hardware: Razer Blade 15 (2019) – Intel i7, RTX 2080, 4K OLED
  • Brave Version: latest Release channel (Aug 2025)
  • Feature: Web App – Open as tabbed window
Additional information:This issue occurs consistently with different web apps. I’ve attached a screenshot showing the enlarged header while using a web app (Bitcoin.org).
