Description of the issue: Syncing bookmarks, settings, etc.
Expected result: Some method to begin the sync process
Ok, I have a newly created sync chain between my old and new Android tablets. So how does the sync operate? Is there another area within Brave that will start the syncing process?
Operating System and Brave Version: Brave 1.80.115, Chromium 130.0.7204.97
OS: Android 10, Build/HUAWEIAGRK-L09
Additional Information: Sorry, but it’s been frustrating to back up or transfer my Brave settings, etc. My personal wish is that there were a more streamlined, intuitive method of syncing. Just my 2¢.
I’m slightly confused. If you have a sync chain between the two, and you select on both devices what it is you wish to sync, it should just sync.
Syncing happens basically immediately, you can even check in on it at brave://sync-internals:
That’s just it, other than if you have to do it via a paragraph of random words (like desktop to phone, which is a royal pain), it’s honestly more seamless than other sync solutions I’ve dealt with, no passwords. The only downside to it is, if you lose all devices at once, you kinda can’t get back to the chain as far as I know. But if you setup the chain, it should just be working right away.
Thank you for your reply. Following the examples given on creating link chains, I see both tablets listed as synced.
Here is response I get on my OLD tablet when I go to “Brave://sync-internals”:
"Page load failed because the developer UI module (dev_ui) is not installed

And this is the error I receive on my NEW tablet:
"This site can’t be reached
The webpage at brave://sync-internals might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address."
