Shield settings are different between normal and private windows

Description of the issue:

When I visit some sites in a normal window, the shields are up. However, when visiting the same site in a private window, the shields are down. Is there some way for me to clear any site-specific shield settings? I would like for the shields to be up for every site, regardless of whether it’s in a normal or private window.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
I’m guessing that this is specific to my installation and isn’t easily reproducible…

  1. Visit www.fark.com in a normal window and observe that the shields are up and ads are blocked.
  2. Visit www.fark.com in a private window and observe that the shields are down and ads are not blocked.

In case anyone else runs into this issue, I was able to resolve it by editing the ~/.config/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/Default/Preferences file
