I am on a 7 day trial for Brave Talk premium and testing it. When sharing audio via the app Spotify, there is an error with ‘my screen sharing permissions’. What is the solution to this?

It might just be that you need to grant permissions to the site in order to share your screen and/or audio. Have you granted the browser permission to share it’s screen in the macOS system settings?
(on macOS) Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen and Audio system recording and ensure that Brave is on this list. If not, add it and you should be good to go.
Thank you for your reply. I just did what you suggested and still cant.
When I click on share audio, a demo pops up on how to do it. I dont have the chrome tab as in that demo. Thats one.
Two, to share audio it says that I need to share the tab on Brave tab, however, Spotify is not listed on this tab even though the app is open.
Yeah it actually should not have that Chrome tab option and I’m not sure why it’s there. I’ll be reaching out to the devs about this.
Where you should see the Spotify tab is in the Brave tab section (note that for privacy I’ve blocked my other tabs in the image):
To confirm, do you have the Spotify site open in Brave or are you using the Spotify desktop app? If you’re using the desktop app or if you have Spotify open in another browser, then you’ll need to select the Window option when you go to share (and ensure that the Share window audio option is enabled in the share screen).

I use Spotify as a desktop app. So, first i go to share audio, then to the Window Tab, selected the Spotify, and then a message comes up that the ‘share window audio’ was not selected in the screen. I cant see this on the share screen. The ‘also share tab audio’ at the bottom, like in your screenshot is enabled.

I see – so the Also share system audio needs to be enabled if you’re using the Spotify app (or any app on your system that you want to share audio from). So when you go into talk and select Share audio, select Window > Spotify and then at the bottom of this screen you should see a Also share system audio toggle, which I’m pointing to in my screenshot below. Note that you may get a prompt to grant the browser permission to share system audio as well – make sure you click Allow when you see it.
Now when you click share, you should be able to share audio from the app. Please give this a shot and let me know if this works for you.
Well that is very strange. I don’t know why it would appear when you have Brave tab selected but not when you have Window selected. There must be some other permission that needs to be granted. Let me ask some team members and see if they can point us in the right direction. Appreciate your patience.
