Briefly describe your issue: Have seen many ads and have been using brave for about a week now but my balance is not changing and I haven’t earned any BAT yet despite seeing multiple ads. Confused and hoping to get this issue solved, thanks!
@icehorse balance is how much you have in your payout account. If you have not received a payment, you won’t see an increase. It is not an estimated earnings and will not instantly increase.
Payments are done once per month. Such as all ads seen here in October get paid in November. Payout date is around the 7th of each month, though it can sometimes take longer.
You can’t start earning until you are connected to Uphold, Solana, or something of the sort. Any ads seen before connecting don’t count to earnings.
If you are saying you connected in September and did not get a payment, then follow the instructions that was in the template, which I’ll quote again below:

The problem and thing that I am most concerned with is the “estimated earnings“ area. My estimated earnings are not updating and not rising at all with the number of ads I view. This worries me because it makes me think that seeing all the ads I have so far is useless, and when November 7 comes I am worried that I will not receive any BAT for the ads that I have viewed in spite of having seen over 30 ads at the time of writing this now. I just wonder why my estimated earnings aren’t changing despite viewing ads, that’s all. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
There is no such thing as estimated earnings. They removed it last year. The only thing that we have is a counter to show how many ads we have seen and the balance that is in our payout account from what was already paid.
So the area that you see 0 BAT would be the balance that you have in Uphold.
When you receive a payment obviously that balance will increase. And if you transfer it or withdraw it somewhere then the balance will go back down again
@icehorse and if you are completely unaware, any ads that are about Brave do not pay anything. Those are called house ads. So this would be anything about Brave VPN, Brave talk, Brave Technologist Podcast, etc.
The average pay “per ad” for all others is about 0.005 BAT each, give or take. And then honestly feels like it’s actually decreased a lot more than that. I’ve been seeing over 600 ads per month and only been getting around 2 BAT per month. That’s around $0.34. It’s not much at all compared to what it used to be years before
