It should be possible to save multiple bookmarks to an existing bookmarks folder without a ‘New folder’ being created for those bookmarks.
However, currently that isn’t possible. A ‘New folder’ is always created even when none is specified.
It would seem that a solution could be achieved through the current folder selector that appears when multiple tabs are to be saved as bookmarks. (Currently, multiple tabs can only be bookmarked in a single operation through Bookmark All Tabs, which requires them to be moved to a new browser window before saving, unless the bookmarking is intended to include all the tabs in the browser window.)
At the top of the folder selector there is a blank field for a new folder name to be entered. The selector also includes a ‘New folder’ button at the bottom. If the top field is left empty the bookmarks should be saved to either the default folder that’s displayed or to one chosen by the user. That is actually what one would expect. However, currently the ‘save’ always creates a ‘New folder’ even if no existing folder is entered in the field at the top of the save dialog. The user is then required to move the bookmarks to the intended folder and delete the ‘New folder’.
Saving selected bookmarks to an existing bookmarks folder is something I do every day. Please add this feature. Thanks.
