So on one of my laptops, Brave rewards is not appearing (even though it used to a while back). If I open rewards settings, it says that my region is not supported. However, on other devices through the same network - everything works. I don’t appear to be running any VPN, and if I go to some website to identify my country by IP, it shows up correctly as one of the supported regions.
What could be the issue?
What Operating System and Brave version are you using?
@comaunite then you have different setups. For example, what country did you choose for your Rewards country? Or even before that, what language and locale do you have selected for your OS? All of these things are considered.
Most likely you have chosen different locale for your laptop or you chose a different Rewards country.
All of my other devices are and working. I am located in a supported region, it is clearly on the list, and when I check my country by ip - it shows the expected result.
So it can be related to me having different regional settings on the laptop? Cause that I do have set up differently on this one, for formatting needs.
Or if it’s allowing you to enable Rewards and it just is saying something like Uphold is not available in your region, then it could be that they show connected on your other devices because they had been able to link, but then Uphold stopped allowing new accounts for your country. When that happens, Brave would show it unavailable as well because new connections can’t be made.
Wow… so the only thing I had to change is “Regional Formatting” for some reason.
Everything else was over in supported regions, but since I had Russian formatting enabled, it didn’t like that. Seems a bit overkill, given that formatting is the least related information to the location. Am I wrong?
I used the sledgehammer. I left the sync chain, deleted all my browsing data, uninstalled, and reinstalled. That seems to have made everything right again for now. I’ll see if it is one of my extensions causing the problem, (if it comes back after all the sync chain operations are complete).
