I gave Brave search a try but found it returned far too many results that had nothing to do with what I was searching for especially when I required specific phrases in the results. Try searching for
ebay “Standard International Shipping” and you will wind up with results that do NOT have "Standard International Shipping " in them
The same goes for
“B460M DS3H” resetting on its own
You wind up getting results for entirely different motherboard models raka AMD rather than the Intel based B460M DS3H model.
Try doing these same searches in Google and compare the results. That is the reason I continue to use Google for my search. It returns results that I need.
@fedup,
Thank you for the feedback.
Please remember that Search is still in Beta and the team is hard at work fine-tuning the algorithm to return the most accurate results. Google search has been around for 25 years; Brave search has only been around for ~25 days – please allow us some time to catch up
There used to be the option to type in site:examplewebsite.com then whatever you were searching for on that website, but now that doesn’t work. Or maybe it is a Linux only feature and doesn’t work on Windows
Sorry but I have to say this:
Your last comment was just RIDICULOUS.
The fact that Google has been around for 25 years does not have anything to do with YOUR bad search results.
I have been around for those 25 years and I can tell google was a great search when STARTED.
The same counts for atlavista (which was one that I frequently used back in those days).
They gave RELEVANT search results from the very start.
The reason that people want different search engines NOW is because those search engines have become WORSE over the last few years (presumably because of political bias).
So please do not use use google as an excuse, because it has nothing to do with the way YOU create YOUR OWN search engine.
A comment (or reply) such as that reflects badly on you guys (since the search engine you guys are referring to was great WHEN THEY STARTED).
Having said that, if you guys are really trying I appreciate that. I’m happy to see people do their best to do something right.
Now there is a list of search engines that use their OWN INDEX who just started and at the same time give more RELEVANT search results than you guys, but I will refrain pasting a list because I am not here to get people to use those search engines.
If you guys are really trying I really appreciate it. Especially the Goggles feature (eventough it is currently not working as expected), so far you are the only search engine that I have come across that is even attempting to offer such a feature.
I wish you all the best in making your results more relevant.
