Remove or allow user to change `cmd+b` shortcut for toggling Leo / Reading List

On MacOS, I recently noticed that pressing cmd+b is toggling on/off the Leo sidebar, which I don’t use. I hid Leo from the sidebar, and now cmd+b is toggling the reading list (also unused).

This keyboard shortcut should not be used for any browser behaviors, as it already is commonly used for toggling bold text styling in rich text editors. Now, every time I want to make text bold, I get this sidebar disrupting me.

Brave should change the shortcut used for this feature to something that is not already widely used for another function on webpages. Or, it should be possible for a user to remap the keybinding to something that is more suitable for them.

Thanks,
Steven

I have advertised Brave to family and friends, but :poop: like hijacking the CMD+B shortcut for promoting your AI tools is what will eventually make me stop using and advertising Brave.

I found this irritating too, but there’s a way to disable them.

  1. Hit CMD+B to turn on the sidebar.
  2. Right click the icons you want to go away forever (in my case, it was all of them, one at a time)
  3. Click “Remove” like in this screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/jr8zlmfnmolfj44bclz7v/Screenshot-2025-06-24-at-10.22.06-AM.png?rlkey=jibrg5ipgyasjqy18zi2a8iln&dl=0

Hopefully this works for you. Much better experience for me. I understand they need to fund the project, but hijacking one of the most common shortcuts was not the way to go IMO.
