Release notes no longer being updated?

The Release Notes category in this forum used to be a reliable source of information, which I found easier to consult than github.

It currently shows 1.84.132 as being the latest release (from 2025-10-29).

So I was surprised when I checked for updates on a Linux system a few days ago and it was proposing 1.84.135 (released 2025-11-06) and later 1.84.139 (2025-11-11).

If the category is not going to be updated, it should be removed.

@yellowfinch it’s not even been that long. @steeven updates it when able. Sometimes people get busy, sick, or whatever.

It was 2 days ago, not 3, that it was released. So a little weird that yours is showing a bit earlier. But it’s whatever.

The absolute most reliable and easiest to see if on Github, which you seem not to like for some reason. https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/blob/master/CHANGELOG_DESKTOP.md

I noticed this too and thought maybe of nudging steeven as he’s typically the man in charge for that, but I’ve bugged him enough already and figured he was on the same work conference as Mattches last week and then maybe went on vacation or as Saoiray said, maybe he got sick or something (it is cold/flu season), so… let’s just be patient…

I do like having the Release Notes on here updated though because you can subscribe to updates for it in your:
Profile > Preferences > Tracking > Watched > Help Center and Resources > Release Notes https://community.brave.app/u/yourusernamehere/preferences/tracking
and I’ve dealt with this issue ever since before I posted.
So until I started tracking Release Notes,
I’d just check About Brave every Wednesday or Thursday.
I was also surprised to see https://brave.com/latest/ wasn’t being updated for a while as well (just checked now going to that link and I see it IS updated now :wink:)
(I don’t always close/restart Brave, so sometimes things can just sit waiting to be updated :man_shrugging:).

Yep that’s my bad.
They’re getting updated on the brave.com/latest page but haven’t been updating on socials. Taking care of that now.
