Description of the issue:
I am deleting large / temp files (drive C ran out of space). Using the SpaceSniffer tool recommended by TheWindowsClub, I discovered that the appdata\local Brave folder is consuming 2.2Gb. That seems excessive, even in 2024. Folder is:
C:\Users_me_\AppData\Local\BraveSoftware\Brave-Browser\User Data
The large folders are “Default” at 1.2Gb “Greaselion” at 626Mb.
What can I delete and how should I do so?
What is a reasonable expectation for a minimum disc footprint that can be maintained (approx 25 tabs open on a Win10 box with 32Gb RAM)?
N.B. - I don’t mind clearing cache, but do not wish to lose auto-password suggestions to frequent sites… Any tips?
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Download Brave
- Use it for a couple of years
Expected result:
Reduce Brave disc footprint to < 700Mb
Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.70.123 Chromium: 129.0.6668.89 (Official Build) (64-bit)
