Reddit Won't load or function with Shields Up? (Standard Level, No Customer Filters/Lists)

Login page is blank, no comments show, no side bar, no top menu, cant click to open anything.

I turned off all custom fitlers and lists, and I have no other blocking extensions installed. I enabled third party cookies and enabled finger print tracking (unchecked the block fingerprinting thing), still doesnt work. ONly thing that works is turning the overall “Block trackers and ads” then reddit loads.

Brave desktop, updated, Windows 11 pro.

I did all of the following steps below, nothing worked except downloading Brave Nightly or just turning shields off. But I want to be able to use regular Brave ultimately. Not sure where to go from here.

These steps can help identify the cause of your issue. They aren’t solutions but will narrow down potential problems. Note that most of these steps can’t be done on iOS, but try what you can and include your results when posting.

  • Check for updates: If Brave won’t launch, try reinstalling it over your current version to patch any missing or damaged files. Not only to make sure your browser is on the most recent version, but also try clicking update on everything at brave://components

  • Test in a private window: Private windows run without cookies, and on desktop, they also disable extensions by default. This helps see if cookies or extensions are causing the problem.

  • Test in a new profile: On desktop, go to the hamburger menu → More tools → Add new profile. This creates a fresh profile, which helps check if settings, extensions, or cookies are the issue.

  • Disable Shields: This helps determine if content filters or Shields settings are causing the problem.

  • Test on Brave Beta or Brave Nightly: Using these versions can help you see if the issue is specific to the version you’re currently using.

@Fled-outline so it didn’t work in private or in a new profile?

Have you changed anything at brave://flags or added anything to custom content filters at brave://settings/shields/filters?

Hi

No flags have been changed in brave://flags, and if there was, they show up at the top highlighted in blue apparently. ITs all just normal default grey.

For custom filters, Yes, many. But I unchecked the enable box for it, I assumed that disables it? Apparently not! Because I then tried Selected all the custom filters, and deleted them, and reddit works now. So it was the custom filters…..

But that poses the question, when you toggle the (enable) on/off switch for it, that should disable the custom filters, right? Is this a bug?
