Description of the issue:
the mouse tracking intermittently fails so that you’re still moving the mouse but the cursor has stopped on screen.
so i spent a day trying to fix what i was convinced was a hardware problem or even an issue with drivers on my system (windows 10). i uninstalled drivers to my drawing tablet, i deactivated my deskflow software kvm, rebooted several times but always, the issue came back.
then, i booted into my old mac mini with the mouse and moved the mouse around for minutes without issue. did this a few times and could never get any halt in tracking where the cursor stopped following the mouse. so i’m pretty sure the 2.4g wireless lenovo mouse that i’m using is fine.
on another reboot, before i brought up brave, i just tried moving the mouse around on the desktop for a few minutes. absolutely no issues. then i played the deadspace remake for about an hour - again, no failures to track.
then i bring up brave and after a few minutes, i get the hitching, track failure. it only happens for a moment… about a second or less… maybe second and a half for the worst instance. but it’s crazy making. HALP!
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
this is the most frustrating thing - the issue is intermittent so it’s hard to troubleshoot. i think it’s been going on for a couple of weeks now at least and i only just concretely noticed it recently and since then, i see it every time it happens.
but the way to reproduce the bug would just be moving the mouse around inside a brave window and look for moments where your mouse is still moving but the cursor has stopped tracking that movement.
Expected result:
cursor stops moving momentarily even though you are still moving the mouse.
Reproduces how often:
intermittently and unpredictably which makes it worse. it can be a few times a minute to a halt every few minutes.
Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):
windows 10,
Brave 1.92.134 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Additional Information:
using a 2.4g wireless lenovo mouse with a dongle receiver (which was recently moved closer to the mouse in case it was an interference issue [it was not]). i don’t have another mouse in the house or else i’d check but if it is brave, even a wired mouse probably wouldn’t help.
