Just a question as to the reason that base open source Chromium updates that Brave uses are delayed at least 24 hours compared to releases of Chromium/Chrome? For example, Chromium 143.0.7499.146 was released yesterday as well as the corresponding Chrome version. Brave is still on 143.0.7499.110.
The reason I ask is that these base Chromium updates often include security updates like yesterday’s High CVE-2025-14765, and sometimes zero day security bug fixes. Each minute an update is released by Chromium gives malicious actors time to reverse engineer the fixes and develop potential exploits that browsers that haven’t had updates released for are at risk.
I need a Browser based on Chromium that is secure and just works with websites for eldery users I install it for. I switched to Brave a few releases ago due to it’s privacy reputation and support for ManifestV2 (ublock origin) and have noticed this lag in browser updates. I’m not sure if the update delay is due to lack of manpower compared to a big corporation like Alphabet, or if it’s due to some other reason like having to bolt on all the crypto and AI stuff.
Please take this as constructive and a vote a support for same day update releases as Chromium/Chrome from a Browser security posture.
