I think Text to Speech is missing in Brave Browser. One of the reason for some people to use Microsoft Edge is the Read Aloud (Text-to-Speech feature). It reads out the currently active webpage. Not only webpage, we can load different books and article pdfs and it reads out for us. Also, this comes inbuilt with the Microsoft Edge. So, this Text to Speech feature, if inbuilt into Brave Browser, would eliminate one of the few reasons to sometimes use Microsoft Edge too. We know that the development is not easy as saying. But I think it would be great to have this feature in the main browser of ours.
Yes It should be implemented very soon in Brave this is the reason I switched from Chrome to Edge and now using Brave but missing these features very much.
I’m in 100% agreement with this as it’s the only reason why I haven’t switched 100% to Brave. Still open most pages in Edge due to the read out loud feature. Please please bring this feature over exactly as explained above. I love it that you can search other pages while still having a page read to you.
I am severly dyslexic. TTS is a make it or break it feature.
I struggle with foreign languages like French and Spanish at times (I’m learning these languages online) while browsing local websites. A TTS facility would not require me to copy the texts repetitively onto an AI text to speech generator externally for understanding the pronunciation or accent to be used… this should be a top priority for Brave in upcoming updates
Your suggestion for integrating a Text-to-Speech feature in the Brave Browser is indeed a valuable one. While the development might pose some challenges, the inclusion of AI speech to text capabilities in Brave Browser could make it even more competitive and user-friendly. It’s a feature that many users, especially those who prefer text-to-speech options, would appreciate.
how to change the annoying voice i have now
this should most definitely be added into brave, there are times where it is needed and some people have adhd or autism, or heck even both, people needs to be added into brave.
From the year 2025, halfway though, please add this feature. This helps people who need to hear, and therefore levels the playing field a little, and it’s convenient for many others.
