Hello. I have 2 profiles and the profile icon has its space on upper right but it is not shown (the space it’s empty and i can click there and nothing happens). I can make it appear using Ctrl+Shift+m. Is it just like that or it’s a bug? If the first option is right is there a way to make it stay always on?
Description of the issue: How can this issue be reproduced?
Create a second profile
The profile icon at the upper right is not shown on both profiles (without pressing the buttons combination)
Doesn’t work anyway. I manually updated brave downloading it from github since my distribution gives the 1.82.172 as the latest. I tried temporally removing BraveSoftware too from .config folder to reset Brave and i tried creating a second profile, the icon doesn’t show without using the hotkeys.
@Chuck I guess I’m trying to think. I’m not too familiar with Linux in general. I just was relying on AI to help me think and I know it mentioned your PCLinuxOS would not typically use Debian/Ubuntu style “.deb + apt” methods or Fedora/RHEL style “yum/dnf + .rpm” directly
So I guess let me first ask, how did you install Brave? Did you use any of the methods shared at https://brave.com/linux/ ?
@Mattches figured I’d tag you in the interim. Any ideas?
I used Synaptic Package Manager, PCLinuxOS uses rpm and apt. I replaced the brave folder in /opt/brave.com to test the 1.83.109 version (that version was reported in brave info).
@Chuck the GitHub thread linked earlier shows a +1 from Mattches. I do not see a priority label or an assignee yet, so it likely still needs triage.
Have you or @siliconforks tested this in Chrome? If it reproduces there, it is probably an upstream Chromium issue and would need a fix there first. If it is Brave specific, it will go into their queue. They still are working with a fairly small dev team overall, so higher impact items may take precedence, but this should still be on their radar.
