Problem Adding Extensions

I recently downloaded and installed Brave browser and have run into problems adding extensions. Maybe someone has run into this problem and can help. I think the problem might be in Windows or with the Chrome store. But when I enter the extension I want and click “Add to Brave”, I get an error stating, “Could not install package: Failed to copy extension file to temp directory.” I do not know what is causing this error but it is preventing me from adding any extensions or themes.

Windows OS user account’s ‘Temp’ folder location:

C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Temp

I looked for the temp directory and did not see an AppData folder under C:\Username.
