Picture-in-picture keyboard shortcuts navigation

There is no navigation keyboard shortcuts in picture-in-picture mode at the moment. Only Firefox supports, but I find it extremely useful.

  1. Picture-in-picture is meant to be a side thing, so if you hear something that triggers you, you frequently have an urge to rewind, and you have to go back to the source tab to do - extra few seconds it’d be cool to spare.
  2. Also, since PIP typically does not show a progress bar, it adds a level of excitement of not knowing when the video would be over for sports (especially EA sports) events. Going to the source tab to rewind spoils that as well.

Expected result:
Back and forward arrows work to rewind video in PIP mode. Preferably shift-back and shift-forward work as well.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.22.70 Chromium: 89.0.4389.105 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:

Actually can we just get a PIP progress bar? It’s super annoying to have to go to the source tab and stop videos. I use YouTube for learning & having no progress bar in the PiP really renders the PiP useless to me. Firefox now has a progress bar in the pip so it makes it easier to stop rewind etc.

If you want to ‘keep the excitement’ I have a few suggestions.

  • Progress bar hidden (not persistent) within the PiP, this is how firefoxes works and it’s really slick
  • Setting toggle for progress bar/no progress bar.
