Permanent cookie issues when trying to open my gmail and yahoo accounts

Description of the issue: Bonjour, je suis sur un ThinkPad Lenovo, Ubuntu 22.04 et Brave, tout à jour.
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. It is always reproduced, disregarding any option in the Parameters for cookies or shield.

Expected result:

Brave Version( check About Brave): 1.85.132 Build officiel

Additional Information:

Description:

Hello, I’m using a Lenovo ThinkPad with Ubuntu 22.04 and Brave, all fully updated. For several months now, I haven’t been able to open Gmail or Yahoo because the sites require cookies to be “enabled.”

I’ve tried all the options in Brave, but nothing works. The main issue is that Brave can only block or allow cookies - there’s no option to “enable” them - but blocking or allowing it doesn’t make any difference anyway.

I don’t have any other browsing issues. This problem doesn’t occur in Firefox.

@Mitch

For Brave Browser version, you wrote: “1.85.132” ← I am guessing that you meant to write “1.89.132” ?

FIRST, using a Brave Browser New Window (not a Private Window), visit each of:

… and for each, locate and click on the Brave Browser “tune” icon near the left end of the browser window’s URL address field - just to the left of the http.... In the pop-down window, click on the Reset permissions button, and you will likely be prompted to Reload the page.

SECOND, using a Brave Browser New Window (not a Private Window), go to, and study, and run through the steps at:

Youtube is now displaying "Ad blockers violate YouTube's terms and services" - #2 by 289wk

In addition to the Google Eco-System names mentioned in that reply:

  • google
  • gstatic
  • youtube

… also search for Yahoo/AOL Eco-System names:

  • aol
  • yahoo

The general idea for all that, is for you to take determined steps to clear away cookies, and be sure that you did. Following all of that work, with a full restart of the browser. If using Windows OS, Exit / Quit everything and restart the computer.

THIRD, using a Brave Browser New Window (not a Private Window), visit each of:

… and for each, locate and click on the Brave Browser “tune” icon. In the pop-down window, Allow JavaScript.

Bonjour,
I followed the 3 steps and restarted, unfortunately nothing changed, still impossible to connect to gmail in order to log in to Youtube, nor to log in to my Yahoo.mail.
In Youtube I got the message : "Les cookies sont désactivés dans votre navigateur. Veillez à ce qu’ils soient activés, puis réessayez. " just as before.

In order to Allow third-party cookies that are now days needed for the Unified Login Eco-Systems (AOL, Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, etc.) go to: brave://settings/cookies and locate the section Sites allowed to use third-party cookies ← there, Add the following:

  • [*.]aol.com
  • [*.]google.com
  • [*.]microsoft.com
  • [*.]yahoo.com

Or use the Brave Shields Site-Specific settings: When visiting a website, and you need cookies allowed, locate the Brave lion icon that is very near the right end of the browser’s URL address field. Click on that Brave lion icon, in order to display a pop-down menu. Scroll down through the Advanced controls of that menu and select Allow all cookies.
