Outlook logon no longer allows logon from Brave on MacBook Air

Description of the issue: Outlook no longer allows logon from Brave on MacBook Air
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. enter Outlook.com in address bar. This redirects to login.live.com/… displays a box in the window saying: Microsoft (my email address) Try Again Later …

Expected result: my Outlook email web page should open.

**Brave Version( check About Brave):**1.80.115 Chromium 138.0.7204.97

Additional Information:

I’ve been using Brave as my default browser on both Windows and MacOS for over a year. I use MS Outlook.com for my email on both platforms. I attempted to log in to my email on my MacBook Air yesterday and while it appears to go through the login process correctly, it then displays a message saying: “We can’t sign you in right now. Please try again later.” Whenever I try to login.

Logging in from Chrome works fine. My Windows Brave still logs in to Outlook just fine. Brave on the MacBook Air seems to support all the other websites I visit there.

I’ve tried Deleting Browsing Data, shutting Brave down, rebooting, and the problem with Outlook persists.

Brave version 1.80.115 Chromium 138.0.7204.97 is installed.
macOS is Sequoia 15.3.1

Update: Brave will allow me to login to Outlook in a Private Window.

What I would do, is “flush the grime”:

In a Brave Browser New Window, go to the Basic tab at brave://settings/clearBrowserData and set ‘Time range’ to ‘All time’ and then enable:

  • Cached images and files
  • Cookies and other site data

Click Delete data button.

Next, in a Brave Browser New Window, go to, one-at-a-time, each of the following brave://settings/content/siteDetails pages:

Microsoft eco-system/sphere domains and hostnames:
  • brave://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Fcloud.microsoft
  • brave://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Fhotmail.com
  • brave://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Flive.com
  • brave://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Flogin.live.com
  • brave://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Fmicrosoft.com
  • brave://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Fmicrosoft.net
  • brave://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Fmsn.com
  • brave://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Foffice.com
  • brave://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Foffice.net
  • brave://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Foutlook.com

TIP: Notice that the long brave://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2F portion for each site details settings page, is the same . . . followed by a domain name or hostname. Remember that, when the browser is unable to reach the actual site ← when you CANNOT use the tune icon located just outside the left end of the Brave Browser’s URL address field.

At each of those Brave Browser Settings pages, click the Clear data or Delete data button, if either is available; otherwise, click the Reset permissions button.

Next, in a Brave Browser New Window, go to, one-at-a-time, each of those brave://settings/content/siteDetails pages, and scroll down to JavaScript and set the selection manually to Allow.

Exit / Quit Brave Browser and Restart the computer.

Thanks 289wk.

I did your first step, clearing the: ‘cached images and files’ & ‘Cookies and other site data

I then attempted to follow your siteData instructions, but didn’t find any sites listed to clear.

So, I closed the Brave window, restarted, restarted Brave, and tried Outlook. It came up immediately after I logged in.

Problem solved - thanks.
