OS Update / Brave Update Popup

A few weeks ago, a Brave popup told me that Brave could not update until I updated my MacOS 10.14, which I choose not to do.

More recently, another popup asks me to Reinstall Brave.

I’m guessing that reinstalling Brave will not help, because I haven’t updated the OS. So, how can I eliminate the popups that occur every time I start Brave, which is frequently? If I can’t update, is Brave too dangerous to use? Should I switch browsers? *Here is my Brave version info:
