The same was happening for me! what I did was to add [*.]google.com under Allow and now it is working fine
Hi. I’m running Brave [Version 1.1.20 Chromium: 79.0.3945.74 (Official Build) (64-bit)] on a OSX Catalina 10.15.1 and I’m having same problem. Can’t find the auto-play icon.
The auto play fix works when using hangouts.google.com (and the extension is disabled, otherwise hangouts.google.com just opens the extension), but it does not work for me using the hangouts extension (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/google-hangouts/nckgahadagoaajjgafhacjanaoiihapd?hl=en)
I have added both https://hangouts.google.com & [*.]google.com under allowed under Settings->Privacy & Security->Site Settings->Autoplay->Allow.
I have restarted my browser a bunch of times, but nothing gets me sound on my hangouts extension.
That worked to solve the issue for me too. Thanks for that.
I’m still having the issue with the extension , tried whitelisting [*.]google.com in most areas and the extension never lets me get access to the mic/headset
were you ever able to get this corrected in your instance? I can get audio/mic to work within the brave built in site, by disabling the extension but j ust can’t get the extension to work.
no, unfortunately I wasn’t able to get it working. This issue, along with the most recent change brave made that breaks xbrowsersync is causing me to look into other browsers (like Edge Chromium) until they are fixed.
